Kyle Foust for Congress -- NOT!!
Well today in my speech class Kyle Foust, a current Erie city-council man, who is running for congress spoke. His message was the usual boring message. When he was finished he opened it up for discussion. As is the norm in college, when the teacher opens things up for questions, no one asks because everyone wants to get dismissed early. The teacher read our minds and reminded us of the participation quota, and told us we would not get our early so we should ask questions. A couple questions were asked, mainly some easy ones, and then everything broke lose.
I really have no clue what this candidate was thinking, or how he didn't see this problem coming. Nearly every American (myself included) believes we should with drawl our troops from Iraq. Candidite Foust harped on this during his speech like it was something new and we had never heard it before. However, during the question time someone confronted him about it, and in a nice poliete manner asked how he planned on doing this.
I think everyone in the room expected his to come up with a typical democratic response, and he did something of the sort. He was not prepared though for the followup question that came with it and started to lose his cool. Once he was in this little hole (which he very easly could have recovered from) someone else noted the inaccuracies of his speech and asked more questions. He completely lost it by then and started getting quite irrate. He was only saved by the fact that we ran out of time.
And that is why I will not vote for Kyle Foust in the 2008 election (that is if he makes it past the primaries)
